Introduction
The JAM Empire was built upon a foundation of basic rules and tenets that
ensure that as we grow ever larger as a gaming community, order and fairness
will still be maintained amongst our members. We also use a ranking system to
show how long a member has been with us as well as to delegate certain duties so
that no one has to bear the brunt of the work in keeping JAM a well-oiled
machine.
The following are some basic protocols that every new member should commit to
memory:
Respect and honor are key traits in any JAM member. You must show respect to
your fellow members, especially senior members. If you do not show respect to
your fellow members, you will not be given any respect in return. Good
sportsmanship is highly desirable. Any soldier caught repeatedly displaying poor
sportsmanship may be reported to his Admiral. Actions may be taken for repeat
offenses.
There will be no hacking of any game by any member of the JAM Empire. Hacking
and cheating is expressly forbidden for it dishonors not only the culprit but
his associates as well. Hacking is the realm of cowards. The honor and nobility
of the JAM Empire will not be tarnished by any soldier. Be warned: any offense
will be dealt with harshly. This is an offense that will get you banned even if
it is the first time.
Profanity, or ethnic/racial/sexual slurs in any form will not be tolerated. The
Empire is a moral and decent place. We have members of all ages, genders, and
races in our ranks. All are equal in the eyes of the Empire. Soldiers will be
referred to their commanding officers for discipline if caught behaving
inappropriately. In a chat situation, the highest ranking member is the chat
moderator. Respect his authority.
The Ranking System
Each member of JAM has their own place and rank in the Empire. The Empire is
divided into separate divisions that represent each of the games that we play.
Each division is lead by a Grand Admiral who has total authority over the
division.
Divisions are subdivided into groups known as platoons. A platoon is lead by an
Admiral.
Finally, platoons may or may not have squads. A squad is a smaller group of
members who work together for some purpose, such as a ranked gaming league.
Every member of JAM has a rank that determines their job in the Empire.
Ranks are divided into two main classes: enlisted and officers.
Officers are members ranked Ensign and above. The beginning jobs are just as
important as the higher jobs as this gaming league is a cohesive family. New
idea's and resources at all levels are considered and responded to by the High
Council.
High Council members are IG-CO's and above. (Note: Using the "chain of command"
is recommended before contacting the HC directly.)

Enlisted soldiers may optionally refer to officers as "Sir", and officers may
also refer to higher-ranking officers as "Sir". Soldiers may also optionally
::Salute:: officers. This is purely at the discretion of each individual
soldier. Calling someone 'sir' or giving them a salute is a sign of respect and
should be treated as such. Salutes should be honorable, appreciated, and quickly
returned by the officer who was saluted.
Promotions
Promotions are given to members who have earned them through being active and
doing what they can to help their division. Higher ranks are more esteemed and
prestigious, but also carry with them more responsibilities. For example,
Admirals, while being some of the most respected members of the Empire, must
devote some of their time to running their platoon. However, we do our best to
ensure that no high-ranking members are given more responsibility than they can
handle. Attaining a high rank is still very possible if you work or go to school
full-time and have a busy life.
Recruiting
All ranks from Sgt and above have the ability to recruit. An Admiral may also give someone lower
than Sgt the ability to recruit at his discretion. Such soldiers would be chosen because they are
the model of an Imperial warrior, on the battle field and off.
Transfers
To transfer from one platoon to another, you need to get the permission of the Admirals of both
platoons. To transfer to another division, you must get permission from your Grand Admiral and
the other division's Grand Admiral. Sometimes, an Admiral or Grand Admiral will deny a transfer
request for some reason, but 95% of the time they are granted without any issue.
Demotions
Demotions may be given to a soldier if they abuse their rank, break the rules, or if they are not
doing their job to help the Empire. Admirals can demote members from their own platoon, and
members of the High Command can demote other soldiers as they see fit. Rest assured that when
a demotion occurs, a review takes place to make sure that it is valid and the soldier was
deserving of it. If someone is wrongly demoted, there may be action taken against the person who
demoted him or her.
Your division may have additional rules so if there is any doubt, check with your Grand Admiral.
