Procedures

The JAM Empire has Procedures for many different situations which should be followed at all times. Below is a list of procedures for certain situations that may occur within divisions or platoons. Follow these procedures and you should have no problem with getting the results you're asking/looking for.

Problems

A. If a soldier has a problem with another soldier in another platoon, he/she is to report to his/her Admiral, and his/her Admiral should talk with the other platoon's Admiral.

B. If an Admiral has a problem with another Admiral, report to the Grand Admiral of your division.

C. If a soldier has a problem with his/her Admiral, he/she should first talk to his/her Admiral about it BEFORE going to his/her Grand Admiral.

D. If a soldier has a problem with another Admiral, he/she should report to his/her Admiral.

E. If a soldier has a problem with his/her Grand Admiral, he/she should talk to his/her Grand Admiral first, it the problem cannot be resolved, then and only then, should it be taken to the EH.

F. If an Admiral has a problem with his/her Grand Admiral, he/she should speak to his/her Grand Admiral first, if the problem cannot be resolved, then and only then, should it be taken to the EH.

Under NO circumstance should any problem be taken directly to Lord JAM. All Problems are to be taken to the next highest leader starting with the Admiral in command.

Transferring

Division to Division:
If a soldier wishes to transfer from one division to another (ie. From GJE to CJE) he/she MUST get the approval from Both Grand Admirals in order for the transfer to be official.

Platoon to Platoon:
If a soldier wishes to transfer from platoon to platoon within his/her division, he/she MUST get an approval from the Admiral of the platoon he/she is currently in, as well as the Admiral of the platoon he/she wishes to transfer into.

Changing Names
If a soldier wishes to change his/her name, he/she must get the approval of the Admiral commanding the platoon he/she is currently in.

Name changes must be approved by the Admiral of a soldier's platoon. Frequent name changes may be a cause for denial of name-change request, due to administrative overhead involved in such a change. While an Admiral is not bound to approve such a request, the benefit of the doubt should be given to the soldier requesting the name change.

Recruiting
If you're at the rank of EN (Ensign) or higher, you have reached the rank which gives you the ability to recruit new soldiers into your platoon/division. Below is the basic procedure for going about recruiting a new soldier.

A. Go into a public game by simply creating one or just joining one. Once in the game, observe the players closely for, skill, good sportsmanship, no cursing and Most of all, Attitude. Attitude is the MOST important thing to look for in a new recruit. Skill can be improved on, but attitude usually cannot be changed.

B. Invite them to join you either in another game or in a private channel. (Never take a possible recruit into your divisions main channel prior to final recruitment).

C. Inform them of the Rules, Protocol, make sure they read the rules/protocol before allowing them to join.

D. Make sure they have Xfire™ and know how to use it. If they do not have, direct them to the proper site and help them get it set up and running. Xfire™ is useless to someone who does not know how it works.

E. Give them the URL for our main site www.jamempire.net so they can see the greatness of this mighty Empire.

F. Have them change their name to match the way your division sets up names & tags. Give the new recruit the name of your main channel.

G. Final step is for the recruiter themselves, Send out a mass message on Xfire™ to at least your divisions soldiers with the info of the new recruit (name, rank, platoon, Xfire™ name). and Welcome them into your division, or send a mass private message (PM) through the forums.

It is the recruiter's responsibility to make sure all these steps are followed and make sure the new recruit understands the rules and how JAM works. The first step to bringing in a good soldier is to make sure they understand everything.

Promoting
Promotions can be given out ONLY by the Soldiers Admiral, Their Division's Grand Admiral, The EmperorsHand or Lord JAM.

Promotions are given out for:

  • Activeness
  • Loyalty
  • Following Rules
  • Behavior
  • Attitude
  • Time served

An Admiral of one platoon may choose to promote differently than an Admiral of another Platoon but for the most part, Promotions are handed out for the same reasons across the entire Clan.

Insubordination
Insubordination is NOT tolerated to any extent in the JAM Empire no matter what division. Soldiers who are caught to be insubordinate, will be dealt with Quickly and Harshly. Depending on the severity of the situation, the soldier in question could be: put on probation, demoted or banned completely from the clan. The severity of the punishment is up to the Grand Admiral of the division the soldier is in.
Examples of Insubordination:
- Talking back to a superior Officer
- Not following a direct order from a superior Officer
- Lack of Respect
- Cursing
- Poor attitude
- Blatant disregard for the Rules

Tournaments
The JAM Empire periodically holds tournaments within divisions or sometimes the tourney can include any soldier from any division. This is one thing that sets us apart from other clans is the family ideals of the divisions and the soldiers in those divisions.

To create or set up a tournament within your division:
You must get permission from the Grand Admiral of your division.

To create or set up a tournament that includes other divisions:
Get the approval from each divisions Grand Admiral as well as the approval of the EH or Lord JAM.

In any situation were a tournament is being created, it's also a good idea to get the soldiers opinions on your tourney idea. Some tourneys just wont work or are not liked by enough soldiers to make it a success. Another thing that makes a tournament a success is good organization and set up. If a tournament is not set up properly and takes too long or is too complicated, it will most likely fail.
